Product Description

A stunning, original swivel chair…

Dating to the earlier part of the 20th century, circa 1930’s, this is an original wooden mill chair. Recently reclaimed from a retired mill in Scotland, the chair is significant in its design and charm. The chair is made in what we think is oak, with a cast iron swivel mechanism bolted underneath. This means one can swivel with a 360 degree rotation, and adjust the height of the chair by a simple swivel left or right. This is an unusual chair and one not seen in the market very often

The wear and tear gives this an authentic look and this could be ideal in one’s home office, or it would be brilliant for display purposes in retail setting (for example)…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. There are some surface scuffs and scars to the surface and some chipping in areas to the paint. The chair is a little tatty in places and there is some glue residue that can be seen between the legs. Structurally the chair is good and strong, just some weathered areas here and there. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
