A superb ‘life size’ museum wax head, circa early to mid part of the 20th century…

Product Description

A stunning wax museum head…

Although we are unsure of the original purpose of this piece, we understand from the previous owner that it dates to the earlier part of the 20th century, circa 1930s. It’s certainly an interesting piece and would cause a few talking points! Cast in wax, the head is ‘life size’ and is quite ‘weighty’, therefore it happily free stands on its own should one want to display it in a curio cabinet

The head is very well made, structurally strong and sturdy. It appears that original hair has been added to the head but we cannot be sure. Although this won’t be for everybody, we love the curious nature of the piece and it could double up as a hat stand or display piece in a shop window…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. There are some surface scuffs and scars to the surface and some chipping to the wax in areas. It’s a little tatty in places and there are some small surface losses to the cast. That said, structurally it’s in great shape and it shows it’s originality and authenticity. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
