Product Description

An original hand made architects’ model…

Although we are unsure of the actual age of this piece, we believe from the previous owner that it was made around 10 years ago. The model is a depiction of Leckford Abbas Estate, the building owned by the The John Lewis Partnership. As described on their website; “Our boutique hotel is a tranquil place to relax; an idyll of period charm and breathtaking countryside set in the Leckford Estate. The Abbas has all the character and quality you would expect from the former house of Spedan Lewis himself”

This particular piece is quite the eye catcher. Detailed in its build and charming in its look, this is quite the collectable or statement piece for your home. The house is made from plywood and it’s hand painted in areas. The complementary windows are made from a form of plastic. The best part of this piece is the fact that it is ‘three-tired’. Simply lift the roof section to reveal the first floor. Then remove the first floor to reveal the plans of the ground floor. It’s certainly a great piece of craftsmanship in its entirety. We love the intricate detailing, nothing has been missed in terms of scale and proportions…

Even if there is no significance of this particular piece to someone, we thought it would be a nice display piece for an office setting, or maybe for a retail environment. Equally, this wouldn’t look out of place in ones home in Hampshire to create a talking point of the ‘cool place down the road’…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. The house is structurally good with some obvious tatty and dirty areas. There is also some small losses to the wood in areas, yet it doesn’t affect the structure or indeed the appearance of the house. Although it’s in three pieces, one wouldn’t notice when it is all stacked on top of each other. We feel the current condition simply adds to the look and authenticity… Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
