Dating to the earlier part of the 20th century, circa 1930s, this is an original pair of leather arm chairs. Of English origin, these are simply stunning! Functional, on trend, comfortable and really attractive. The chairs are in a tan Brown colour complemented with some surface wear and tear giving the chairs an authentic and used patina. The chairs are spot on in terms of condition, with just a few worn areas from years of usage. The chairs simply ooze charm and authenticity. Thought to originate from Exeter Univeristy, we understand these were used originally in the board room.
A hand made wooden frame in oak with a sprung seat, the chairs are strong, sturdy and extremely heavy. They are very comfortable and are a great support for the arms and back. With the doweled joints and coat of arms on the back of the chairs, these are an elegant set that ooze quality and would suit any room of your home…
We are offering this pair of chairs in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is natural wear and tear. There are some surface scuffs and abrasions across the chairs and some tatty areas on some of the legs (some chipping and scuffs). The chairs are a little tatty in places with some small tears to the leather, yet nothing that is detrimental to the structure or indeed the purpose of the chairs. We feel the condition simply adds to their charm and authenticity. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
