Product Description

An original Railway Station sign…

Dating back to the mid part of the 20th century, circa 1950s, this is a genuine sign with an authentic patina. Probably used on a railway station platform or in the vicinity, the sign is single sided in the recognisable ‘Green’, depicting the Southern region. The sign itself is still housed in it’s original wooden frame, showing off its authenticity. The condition is great considering its age, and close up, one can see that there has been some ‘touch ups’ (or restoration) to some areas. We love the weathered look and it’s a stunning piece of railwayana

There are some tatty areas, but the condition of the sign in general is nice and clean. The writing and subject matter is majorly in view, therefore making this a great collectable or an alternative piece of wall decor…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. The sign is structurally great with some obvious tatty areas, paint chipping and rust. The wooden frame shows some surface scars and wood chipping, yet nothing that is detrimental to its look or indeed structure. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
