Product Description

A stunning original factory machinist stool…

Dating to the earlier part of the 20th century, circa 1940s, this is an original and rare machinist stool by Singer. The chair is heavy, height adjustable, comfortable and functional. The stool is made with a heavy cast iron base and stamped with the singer logo on all three legs. Simply twist the knob on the central stand to allow the stool to swivel (or wind up or down), for height preference. The wooden seat is covered with a ‘material of the time period’, still in good, clean condition.

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. There are some surface scuffs and scars to the surface and some chipping in areas to the paint. Structurally the stool is great, just some weathered and rusty areas here and there. The material has the odd ‘pull’ or abrasion, yet nothing that is detrimental to its look or indeed its functionality. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
