Product Description

A beautiful set of original Hartebeest horns on skull…

“The Red hartebeest is a species of even-toed ungulate, found in Southern Africa. More than 130,000 individuals live in the wild. The red hartebeest is closely related to the tsessebe and the topi”

Dating to the mid to late 20th century, 1967, this piece is just stunning. Extending around 70cm in height and mounted, they are striking in appearance and the bone structure (or skull) is nice and clean, mounted well on a wooden shield and dated. These are easily ready to be wall mounted with a pre-made metal string attached to the rear of the piece. The horns and skull create such a talking point when protruding from the wall of our showroom…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is natural wear and tear. The horns are in brilliant condition with just a few rough edges and surface abrasions. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
