Product Description

An original railway ‘speed indicator’ sign…

Dating to the mid part of the 20th century, circa 1950s, we understand this is a genuine enamel railway sign used to indicate speed to a train driver. With an authentic patina, the sign originates from France. It’s a good size and in great shape, meaning this could be quite the functional piece. Maybe you live at ‘Number 10’ and this could form a cool piece of decor for one’s home?

There are some rusty and tatty areas, but the condition of the sign in general is very nice and clean. The numbers are all in view, therefore making this a great collectable or an alternative piece of wall decor. A cool, authentic piece of railwayana…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. The sign is structurally good with some obvious tatty areas, paint chipping and rust. The sign shows some surface scars, but nothing that is detrimental to its look or indeed its structure. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
