Product Description

An original Railway Station ‘Gentlemen’ sign…

Dating back to the earlier part of the 20th century, circa 194os, this is a genuine and rare sign, with an authentic patina. The condition is great considering its age. We love the weathered look, the splattering of rust and the original paint. Originally used to advertise the ‘gents’ toilets on the platform, the sign is single sided in the recognisable Blue of British Railways

There are some small rusty areas and tatty areas, and a few surface lumps and bumps, but in general but the condition of the paint is shiny and clean. The writing and subject matter is majorly in view, therefore making this a functional piece as well as a collectable or piece of wall decor. The areas of rust seeping through completes the original and authentic look…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. The sign is structurally great with some obvious tatty areas, paint chipping and rust. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis, as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
