Product Description

An original railway crossing sign…

Dating to the mid part of the 20th century, circa 1950s, this is a genuine enamel railway crossing sign with an authentic patina. Of French origin, the condition is good considering its age. We love the weathered look, the splattering of enamel loss and the original paint

There are some rusty and tatty areas, but the condition of the sign in general is nice and clean. The writing and subject matter is majorly in view, therefore making this a great collectable or an alternative piece of wall decor. A cool, authentic piece of railwayana…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. The sign is structurally good with some obvious tatty areas, paint chipping and rust. The sign shows some surface scars and abrasions and it has a slight warp in the middle. Nothing that is detrimental to its look or indeed its structure. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
