Product Description

A cool papier mache head…

Although we are unsure of the actual age of these piece, we would assume it dates to the latter part of the 20th century, circa 1980s. Frank Sidebottom was a comic persona, masterminded by Chris Sievey, an English musician and comedian. Sievey, under the guise of Sidebottom, made regular appearances on North West television throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, even becoming a reporter for Granada Reports

The head is made from papier mache and hand painted. Although large in size, it is relatively lightweight in nature and easily pops over ones head and sits on ones shoulders (as pictured). It’s a fun piece, in good shape given its age. Great for display, or even for a theatrical or stage performance…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. The head is structurally good, yet a little tatty in places. There are surface scars and abrasions and some paint chipping, yet we feel it simply adds to its charm and authenticity. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
