Product Description

A wonderful pair of carnival heads…

Although we are unsure of the actual age of these pieces, we suggest they would date to the latter part of the 20th century. We are unsure of the original use for the head forms, but we think they could have been used in a theatrical backdrop or maybe for a parade or a carnival setting. We understand these pieces are of Dutch origin

Both heads are made in papier mache and hand painted. Both are sturdy, and comfortably rest on ones shoulders when placed over ones head. There are also ‘breathing holes’ in both heads. These are fun pieces, great on the eye, perfectly functional but equally great for display too…

We are offering these pieces in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is natural wear and tear. Structurally the pieces are in good shape, yet there are some surface scars and abrasions, some paint chipping and they are also a little tatty in places. That said, we feel it simply adds charm and authenticity to the pieces. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections

Please note : This listing is for the pair of carnival heads
