Product Description

A cool and fun model Beagle…

Although we are unsure of the exact age of this piece, we believe it could date to the mid to latter part of the 20th century. Recently discovered in a loft in Kensington, London, we believe the model is depicting the Beagle species of dog. The best bit… The dog is charming on the eye until you turn him around to see the rear leg in ‘wee position’ :o) Love it!

The dog is hand made and crafted in what could be a mix of papier mache and moulded cardboard. There are several layers, so we cannot be exactly sure. We can tell you that it is hand painted and very light weight. Offered in great condition, other than a few surface losses here and there. The dog perfectly ‘free stands’, even on three legs!

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is natural wear and tear. The dog is good structurally yet there are some surface scuffs and abrasions and paint chipping. There are a couple of notable tatty areas underneath and on the feet and leg areas. We wouldn’t say that they are detrimental to the structure or indeed the look and feel. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
