Product Description

A quite unique and charming taxidermy beaver…

Although we are unsure of the exact date of this piece, we understand from its previous owner that it dates to the mid part of the 20th century, circa 1950s. We know that it is particularly rare to see a beaver in taxidermy form, and to see one in such beautiful condition too. It’s a charming piece, and we love the fact the beaver is chewing on the ‘ball shaped’ item…

It’s a really nice piece of taxidermy what we have here and the piece is structurally good in its build. The beaver is mounted on a piece of oak (we think), given it stability. That said, the beaver does wobble a little if you pick it, but when static and sitting on a flat surface is perfectly ‘free stands’.  It’s eye catching piece, nice and clean and unscented…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. There are some surface scuffs and marks across the piece and it is a little tatty in places. There isn’t anything that we feel is detrimental to the build or indeed the look and feel. We feel the current condition simply adds to its authenticity and charm. Please do review the photos as it would be difficult to highlight all of the imperfections…
