Product Description

A beautiful set of original Oryx antelope horns…

An Oryx is a genus consisting of four large antelope species. Three of them are native to arid parts … The horns are narrow, and straight except in the scimitar Oryx, where they curve backwards like a scimitar

We are actually not that experienced will all forms of taxidermy therefore we are always honest with our approach in describing such items. This particular set of horns and skull are just beautiful and striking on the eye!

These are of South African origin and dating to the mid 2oth century, circa 1950s. They are just stunning, extending over 1.1 metres in height and mounted on a unique wooden shield. They are striking in appearance and very detailed and clean. These are easily ready to be wall mounted with the pre-made hole on the rear of the shield. The horns and skull create such a talking point when protruding from the wall of our showroom…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is natural wear and tear. The horns are in brilliant condition with just a few rough edges and surface scars and abrasions. The skull is a little tatty and dirty, yet we feel it simply adds charm and character. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
