SKU: RC0136.

Product Description

A rather unusual model horse…

Although we are unsure of the exact age of this piece, we believe it would date to the latter part of the 20th century, if not earlier. We understand that this was originally part of a juvenile fairground ride, but being honest we haven’t seen one like this before, so cannot add any additional information

What we can tell you is that it is a charming piece. Standing almost 70cm’s in height, the horse is made in a thin metal with a complementary vulcanised rubber mane. We think the horse has been over-painted in its current ‘Creamy colour, but again we are not sure where it originated from… The iron bracket at the feet suggests this was attached to something, therefore the provenance could be true – a fairground related item. If anything, it’s an unusual and unique item that is rare to see on the market…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is natural wear and tear. Structurally the horse is good and solid and perfectly ‘free stands’. There are some surface scars and abrasions across the piece and some paint chipping, yet otherwise it is offered in really good condition. There cracked patina to the mane is brilliaint, showing off the age and authenticity of this piece. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
