Product Description

A cool original Beech-Nut chewing gum vending machine…

Dating to the mid to late part of the 20th century, circa 1960s, this is an original steel vending machine for Beech-Nut chewing gum. Made in England, and owned by Rowntree and Co. Ltd of York, the machine is offered as a display piece or restoration project with an authentic patina…

Although there is no key present, one is able to simply pull the machine apart to get into the insides (the knob on the side essentially holds the front and back in place). The machine happily ‘free stands’ but also has pre-made eyelets on the reverse so it can fix to a wall. The artwork on the front is good yet it is splattered with rusty areas. Although we are offering this as not working, there are internal mechanics that haven’t been checked

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. There are some surface scars and abrasions to the entire piece and some paint chipping. It is tatty in places and please note the slightly messy patina in areas. That said, we feel this is quite charming in its current condition with buckets of character. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
