Product Description

A really cool hand carved lion head…

Dating to the mid part of the 20th century, these lion heads were part of the decor for a pub in Scotland and formed a piece of history for the pub, with them eventually turning into pub trophies. They are intricately hand carved in resin, yet to look and feel they seem like wood. They are really heavy at circa 7kg per piece. They are hand painted naively, yet set of the striking realistic look of a lion. The heads were mounted on wooden shields (to act as trophies) yet these have since been removed. We have left the more modern metal brackets so one can easily mount them on a wall…

They are striking in appearance and look stunning protruding from a wall. We had 8, but have just the three photo’d available now…

We are offering these pieces in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is natural wear and tear. The heads are in brilliant condition with just a few rough edges and surface abrasions. There is some paint chipping in areas and some tatty places too. We feel this simply adds to their charm and authenticity. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…

Price is £185 per head

Please note : The wooden hat bock is used for photography purposes only and not included within this listing
