SKU: RC0636.

Product Description

A cool, original fairground sign…

Although we are unsure of the exact age of this piece, we would suggest that it dates to the latter part of the 20th century. Unfortunately we have no provenance on this, but we love the naive nature of sign. Hand cut and hand painted on a thin wooden board, the sign would probably have been made by the showman themselves. This would have probably hung at the entrance of a ride, or a side stall

This piece could be easily wall hung as a piece of decor in ones home or in a retail environment. Also the subject matter could cause a few fun talking points!

We are offering these pieces in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. The sign is structurally good and in nice shape. There is some obvious paint chipping and the wood is tatty in areas. The paint work is of a naive nature, yet we feel it simply adds to its charm. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
