Product Description

A rare fairground organ figurine…

Although we are unsure of the exact age of this piece, we understand from the previous owner that this dates to around the mid part of the 20th century, circa 1940s. Originating from Holland, this beautiful piece is hand carved in wood and hand painted. The figure would have been part of a set that would have graced the fascia of a fairground organ, potentially static, potentially part of a moving set too. We think due to the current condition that this piece has been ‘over-painted’, yet we could be wrong

The piece perfectly free stands on its own, it’s vibrant and colourful and shows great craftsmanship. Original pieces are hard to find, we just love this piece of fairground history…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. The figurine is structurally good with some paint chipping and some surface scuffs and scars. In general it’s in really nice shape. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
