An original factory or school high chair in Oak and steel, circa mid part of the 20th century…

SKU: RC0329.

Product Description

A cool original factory chair…

Although we are unsure of the actual age of this piece, we believe that it would date to the mid part of the 20th century, circa 1960s. Thought to be either a factory chair or maybe a school chair, its quite a unique shape and style and offers an alternative sitting height to the usual stool or chair

The chair is made with an oak base, which is supported by steel rods which attach to the back rest. The chair is padded for comfort and then covered in what we think is a Black vinyl material, maybe a faux leather. The coolest bit for us is the ample graffiti that is scratched into the back rest, offering a unique story, and a unique finish to the chair. A functional chair or maybe a feature piece for a room…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. Structurally the chair is great, but naturally there are weathered areas, surface scuffs and scars and chipping to the wood in places. There is a rip to the vinyl seat cover as pictured, which we feel adds charm and character to the chair. It’s a little tatty in places but its ready to be sat on and enjoyed once again. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…
