Product Description

A beautiful set of original Alpine Ibex horns and head…

“The Alpine ibex, also known as the steinbock or bouquetin, is a species of wild goat that lives in the mountains of the European Alps. The coat colour is typically brownish grey. Alpine ibex tend to live in steep, rough terrain above the snow line”, Reference : Wikipedia

Dating to the early part of the 20th century, 1920s this piece was part of a large collection held by a gentleman who is now down sizing. This piece is just stunning! Extending around 70cm in height, this piece is striking in appearance. The dark bone structure is clean and shiny, and the head is mounted well on a wooden shield. It’s a charming piece and we love the elegance of the piece and the aged nature with simply adds to the authenticity

These are ready to be wall mounted with a pre-made metal hook attached to the rear of the piece. The horns and skull create such a talking point when protruding from the wall of our showroom…

We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is natural wear and tear. The horns are in good condition given their age and structurally secure on the wooden shield. There are some rough edges and surface abrasions, some fur loss and some tatty areas. At almost 100 years old, please expect that there will be imperfections. That said, these are beautiful in the flesh and ooze charm and authenticity. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections…

Lastly, the horns themselves are also removable too!

Please note : The stool is used for photography purposes only and not included within this listing
