This is awesome! Although we are unsure of the exact age of this piece, we understand from the previous owner that this could date to the latter part of the 20th century, circa 1990s. We also understand that this came from London’s West End, and was used as a prop for one of the theatre productions for 42nd street. It’s a large ‘hand made piece’ which is naive in its build, yet oozing charm and character
The illumination is made with a light wooden frame and secured with ‘hard wearing’ tape. The perspex fascia has some artwork inside (which looks hand painted on), and when illuminated it omits a warm ‘Pinky/Red glow’. Due to the wear and tear inside, the light has a great look to it when plugged in. This would make a great feature light in ones home, or of course in a retail environment, specifically a window display. The light has two metal brackets to one side, enabling one to easily wall mount it if desired. For us, we think this would look cool balanced in a corner of ones home…
We are offering this piece in ‘as found’ condition, therefore there is some natural wear and tear. There are some surface scuffs and scars to the light and as suggested, they are naive in their build. The light is structurally good and secure and works immediately when plugged in. It’s tatty in places, yet we feel this simply adds to its charm and authenticity. Simply plug in and play!. Please do study the photos to help with your analysis, as it would be hard to highlight all imperfections.
Please note : Although this piece is offered in full working order, this hasn’t been PAT tested our end. We would recommend this to the new owner
Condition : Structurally good, surface marks and scratches, paint chipping, a little tatty in places, some messy areas around the tape, some wear and tear to the art work inside, not PAT tested by us (recommended by the new owner)
Postage : Heavy Item £25 or local collection
